Went to the Bradley game and nice to see a win. SOme observations Game Day Atmosphere 1. BU is struggling with attendance,,,,,maybe 30% full to a stadium that used to always sell out 2. Student attendance was comparable to ours, maybe worse. I am thinking that going to games is no longer the cool thing unless it is already in the culture. Way too easy to stay in your dorm room and play Call of Duty. 3. Had a kind of hipster mc that was kind of cool. He was out at timeouts ....pumping the crowd(?) 4. Must of had a 40 member band that was really loud 5. Had a half time magic show. 6. Beer was at the appropriate temperature! 7. Average age was similar to ours....I think TV has hurt game attendance over all. Game 1. We really do play good defense.....We kept their top 3 point shooter. Van Bree away from the ball and the 3 point line. Until he really force some shots. We seem to almost always do a good job. 2. Jeff White did a ton of little things .....no turnovers.-* 3. Montel James just outworked their bigs. Ala Christian Thomas 4. We continue to create nail biters by taking what seem like comfortable leads and turning them into must watch TV..The TUrkster took a quick 3 late in the game and I thought coach was coming out of the sport coat. 5. I think BU will be good in a couple of years. 4 foreign born players on the squad. Good overall size as well as athleticism. |
