He talked a little bit about recruiting in Chicago and how so many schools come in to recruit and hardly any big names stay in the city to go to college. He also mentioned attendance issues and how we have a great home atmosphere when people show up but that is an issue.

Well, JK, that hits the nail on the head !! If you REALLY think about it, Hoops et al IS basically for the students with the rest of us in second place--AND all the rest of Chicago and the State a distant third. All we second placers can do is pretty much what we have done and are doing. BUT if the students do NOT care to show up, its all then an abject failure--albeit a short sighted one on the students part. In our case, without Big Time Hoops LUC would sink to oblivion --and then become a nice little Jesuit school by the lake. People know us by our great Scholastics which I venture to say would start to whither, little by little.
Our students NOW and our Admin NOW , I feel do not care-- HOOPS , men and women COULD be a revenue enhancer if funded properly.---Example --look at the Jesuit schools this year that are in the DANCE--Coast to Coast---Philly to Spokane. They WILL be making money BECAUSE of the Commitment all the way around.
I say make a big time commitment--Watson to do his thing--then students will come followed by the area--Chicago Sports IS big time and successful. We are minor league by comparison and SHOLD NOT BE. We are better than the rest in town--DePewl sold their souls--We did not--If only whoever runs this affair wiuld see the light !!! The old saying==" Give them something good and they will come !!" With $$$ as well .

Frankly . at the moment we Rambler guys are being played. We, the team and a few--very few-- are all that is left. BUT it takes an Investment--to use a Democrat term==to commence the renewal.

Brot when you talk about it being a failure for students I agree that not enough students are showing up for games there is still a sizable portion of students at the game. I think that the non student attendance is weaker and this leads to students not viewing as important as they should. I have supported and gone to almost every game while I have been here but I think that if the non student attendance was boosted it would help further increase student interest.

Johnny I dislike always going BACK IN THE DAY but our gym, small as it was was most always PACKED ! On Stadium nights our crowds were constantly over four or so thousand--Of course we played the likes of KY Indiana, Illinois ,Okla A&M (Okla ST) St Johns, ND et al---In other words "give them something good and they will come" . We used to play and at times beat the best--because we were one of the best. We are NOT now.

Johnny, LUC MUST multiply you by many more "Johnnys " To do this as I have said--the ADMIN MUST make a move. Their thinking since the late 80s must be changed.
BTW , I believe our biggest crowds this year were the Creighton and Shocker games--If true, I would ask --why ??? Answer--VALUE !!

I agree with you that the administration needs to do more. Going to games is always fun but the games with a packed crowd make it so much better.
