There has been virtually no talk about the soon to come announcement of a new president for Loyola.

The word is that the announcement will come in June and my guess is the new president will make a big splash at the alumni weekend in June.

The temp President Mr John Pelissero seems like a good guy. He was at Arch Madness and road the bus from the team hotel with the fans. He also attended a lot of events. Was very personable.

I heard that the new president will be "a civilian". Now we shall see and it will be very interesting to see if the new president buys into upgrading the athletic program and budget.

There certainly is a lot at stake for all Rambler fans. Lets hope that the decision is a positive one for athletics.

June? The suspense is already killing me. I think I am disappointed a little that it's not a Jesuit though.

I have no idea who the candidates are.
The guy who usually can provide insights is a former player that I am having lunch with this week. I will see if he has any insights. Usually in the know.

Dr. Pelissaro is indeed a candidate as is Father Justin Daffron who also is a supporter of the Athletic Department. No decision has been made on Jesuit or non Jesuit, internal or external. All on good authority. Interviews in April.

Oh great.

He still thinks that he should be the University President. God help us all.

If there is any short list, Pelissero would be on it, just as Kelly would be on any fat list.

(Pelissero is vertically challenged...)

An interesting question is whether Pelissero is taller than Kelly is wide. Both measurements would come in at around 64", just eyeballing them.

I have been happy with Dr. Pelissero during his time as Interim President and think he would be a strong candidate for President. While there are many important factors to base the President on I really hope the new president whoever it ends up being continues the focus on developing the athletic program. I have really enjoyed going to games and watching the team grow since I have been here so I hope that continues. Athletics also helps grow the reputation of the school another bonus.

Here is a screenshot of an email the Board of Trustees sent out to students last week. Signed by Parkinson. It may provide some guidance for all.
