If ever there was a time for our great University to make a statement, and by whom, NOW is the time---Our acting President and the Athletic Director should be the ones to handle and then publicly address this situation of Women's Basketball--Those two and no one else . It is THAT serious. Get it right, RAMBLERS--Get it right !!! To me this MUST be the single most important item on the Agenda--not a new floor or trips to ESPANA --This situation has NOW made national headlines. JESUITS--Get it right !!! |

Brot I think you are on to something here. I think how this is handled will reflect on the whole Athletic Department and on a smaller scale the University. As much as we would like to just think about Porter getting another big man and a point guard there is no way that any individual issue will not be effected by how this is handled. There may be no good way out as this could turn in to a she said ,,she said......but how it is handled will certainly reflect the competence of the Athletic Department and that will reflect on the larger administrations ability to hire and set standards. Also weird that it will be influenced by an interim AD and now an interim President. Right off the bat though not to have a comment by the AD seems to say something. Wonder what the chances are that Father G would re=enter the picture to handle this situation. On another side of the issue it was interesting to see how on social media people were so quick to judge the players as just being wimps and not able to handle a strict demanding coach, I refer to this as the Trump effect. In reality I do not think any of us know what the truth is other than to say 10 of 12 players are leaving because they were unsatisfied with the coach. |

Thanks Nate ! Earlier I did posit that I did know ALL the facts. Maybe as some are saying, the girls are wimps--Some others might aver that Swoopes had little if any experience in coaching YOUNG ladies--Only the Coach and the girls really know--BUT this University had better find out NOW ! Another thing, what if the Valley people become involved ?? It is past time that LUC gets their act together athletically--We lost the best Coach of VB !! Why ?? Powers that be MUST realize that Hoops done right can pay a ton of bills. If not, get people that do !! I feel this ALL goes together--The Swoopes affair is the catalyst that could and should help straighten things out. J would give LUC no more than one week to solve this Hoops affair.--Just my feeling on this. NATE is truly correct in averring that the TRUMP effect guides far too many folks |

It won't be independent if Kelly hires the firm doing it or if the results go to him first. Basically he or Watson shouldn't have anything to do with it. btw at the end of every year the AD performs exit interviews. Are we to believe Watson and Malisch didn't know a thing about this? Don't be surprised if releases are delayed for the players wanting to leave. |

OOPS I erred--I know NOTHING ( I left out the word ' NOT" in my last post Kelly must not be involved here on this one. I do believe our AD should. This also should be done IN HOUSE--I believe those who are 100% in Athletics corner and the acting President for sure--- Naturally I would involve Student Counselors --But NOT an army of them. Other than the Counselors people outside Athletics cannot be trusted on this matter--It is like having a house painter doing concrete work !! Or a surgeon setting a broken ankle. 86 is really correct in saying Watson should not issue exit papers just yet-- To be a tad humorous neither Kelly from what I hear about him nor Sr Jean Dolores be involved --BUT at least SISTER would have our teams at heart !! Nooooooooooow then 86 is better positioned than I am--so he most probably is correcr re WATSON. |
