Wilkins is a local product. He attended Farragut high school before going the JUCO route. Big bodied guard with a little bit of everything in his game. From what I can tell we had been on him the longest and just offered later than everyone else given the way the team exploded. If i had to guess we're in a great spot with him. Definitely doesn't hurt to add another public league kid. He also has some relationship with Milt!

Here are his stats: http://njcaa.org/sports/mbkb/2017-18/di ... ilkinsgkeo

I like the size... that's for sure.

He would fill the role of 6th man with scoring off the bench. At 6-5, 230 he is Jackson:'s size. He also. Blocks a shot a game. Has a 1.5 assists to turnover, 38% 3pp, and 74 free throw %.

A lot to loke

Agreed. Williamson and Aher step in for Ben and Donte... I think Kaifes will bring some decent scoring off the bench as well. I think Skokna can continue to make strides, I really like his offensive upside next year... Roster shaping up well whether we land Wilkinson, Norman, Chatman, Easley, or some combination of the four (assuming another scholarship pops open if Avery leaves).

I was thinking he was a more natural replacement for Townes, only 2" taller.

Lot of talk about offnesive potential but you know coach wants his players to play defense first...Hard to find reliable defensive stats

I watched Wilkens’ game online (the one Porter was at) and his style reminded me a lot of Milt. Similar size, good 3 point shot, and smooth. Never looked like the quickest guy, but he would get by people.
We have a lot of great players right now and will have plenty of pieces for next year.
No one even mentions Negron. At the open practice in Dallas he was working on a lot of the same stuff as Jackson. I expect him to make an impact next year as well.

I thought Negrons jumper made some serious strides by seasons end based on warmups alone. Way more arc and rotation. I also thought he flashed strength down low and clearly has the athleticism. Give him a full off season of work and he could do some work for us.

His mid range jumper is very good in my opinion. He appears to be working on playing that foul line role that the offense works through.
I also look at the knee injury and how much more explosive Cam has looked this year v last. I think the extra time after the knee injury is a big deal and it will show up with Negron next year.
As for Avery, I think his attitude has greatly improved since the issues earlier in the season. I have been impressed by that. I never want kids to leave our program, however, I don’t know how much playing time he gets especially with the guard talent we bring in next year.
