Illinois freshman guard Mark Smith (former Mr. Basketball) is transferring. Would be a nice addition for the Ramblers and a solid replacement for Custer after next season. I wonder if the coaching staff will make an offer...

Moser is checking out Kawanise Wilkins tonight. As for Smith it’s intriguing but given his previous offers I’m guessing he moves laterally rather than down.

Sorry Brot. Before committing Smith was getting interest from schools like Duke (coach K had an in home visit with him) and Kansas, as well as offers from Kentucky, Ohio State, Cal, Michigan State.

It's nothing against Loyola! I am just guessing he wants to stay at a P5 school. I'd still take Loyola over the Illini 11 times out of 10.

I wonder if the Ramblers might be interested in possible grad transfer John Konchar from IPFW, a 6'5" 2/3 who is a 2018 All Summit League selection with career numbers of 1,300 points, 800 rebounds, 300 assists and 200 steals. He played high school ball at West Chicago.

Couple good grad transfers out there. Matt Mooney out of South Dakota is another local kid who will likely be a grad transfer. Led the USD team last couple years. He may have his sights on a P5 team though.

Wow, Konchar in particular would be a perfect fit from a skill/size standpoint.

Also of note. Cooper Kaifes has been carrying his team in the high school playoffs. Recently hit a halfcourt buzzer beater to send his team to state, then scored 33 and grabbed 12 rebounds to top the #1 seed. Kids gonna be a baller.
