I was updating some of the record books on Ramblermania, and when I got to the All Time Win-Loss Records page, I realized that we just completed the 99th season of Rambler basketball. I wonder if we will see any celebrations of our centennial next year. |

Scary to see how few .500+ seasons we've had since 1984. |

That's....not good. Yeah the more I think about last season, the angrier and less understanding I get. Late January, I thought 11-7, while not automatic, was kind of a reasonable prediction. Coming out of the noncon, I thought 13-5 would've been nice too. |

I too wanted better things and about a 1/3 of the way through started to raise my expectations,,,but their wins were because they played incredible basketball shooting above 50% while having a 2/1 assist to turnover ratio,,,tough to do for a whole year. I think this team overachieved to a great extent. In the end fell short to a short bench and a short team. The Valley schedule caught up to both of these deficiencies. If there were anything I would pin on the coach and it really is an unknowable is the development of a longer bench, specifically with Satterwhite and Gratko. However Satterwhite did almost 2 things wrong for every amazing, athletic thing he did correct. There were a couple of games in the Valley that were bad losses and of course 3 to SIU. |

The 2012-13 season was the 100th season since we started men's basketball. But Loyola didn't play several seasons during World War I and World War II, so next year is our 100th season. I'll probably get around to doing a season wrap up article soon... if anyone has comments or observations, keep 'em coming. The couple of comments from nate and lusuperfan make me feel better about being a little angry and disappointed in the season ending the way it did. |

Hindsight, Those 3 easy games we played in the beginning should have been the bench development time, it could've saved the starters legs, also help gain confidence for the newbies. I was hoping to have seen more Kirby this season. |
