Beat me to it! Here's another article on him and the signing: http://www.suntimeshighschoolsports.com ... illiamson/ Of note, he is listed as 6'4" in this article. Verbal Commits has him at 6'5", so who knows. |

Really good get as a player. Does everything well and all the little things you need to do to win. He will do well to replace Ben following his departure. He brings that same team first hunger for wins, with more athleticism. Really great get in that it's another public league player from a powerhouse program. Young has at least 3 D1 seniors next season including Javon Freeman. LU just nabbed a two time Illinois State Champion, team captain of one of those teams. 3 highly touted local recruits in one class. I'm all in. Go Ramblers. |

Excited about this signing. I think he and Avery were the top priorities. Nice job by Blers of sniffing this one out a couple weeks ago. Let's see who we get for the final spot. |

Thank you, thank you *Bows* I think you're right Ahunte; Avery would be my guess. It'll be really interesting to see what happens from here on out. As of now from what we know we have offers out to: Adarius Avery-Wing-visited Akiean Frederick- Big Man-visited Taylor Bruninga- 6'9 3 point presence who's scheduled for a visit this weekend. Part of me really wants Frederick to help mentor the bigs but Avery is a real talent. It'll be interesting to see what happens next. Most importantly for this thread though... Welcome Lucas! |

I think the Bruninga decision may depend on who picks the Illini.....If the Illini get stiffed with Smith and a couple others then Bruninga may rise to the top.....but of the 3 I would be happy with any of them. I think my preference is the big guy. The way the game has changed....allowing guards to the the rim as well as sooo much high pick and roll....you really need rim protectors.....I remember in the WS game at home that WSU just let our guards get to the rim because they could just make us adjust or swat it away..I believe Coach is a very good defensive coach and that a real rim protector would really allow the team to excel. Makes me think that as Cameron Satterwhite completes his overall game his ability to guard guys going to the rim is going to be impressive. Getting excited for next year already....... |

Love this pickup. Seemed like a suprisingly overlooked diamond in the rough from the city and a great magnet school (both academically and athletically) to boot. It's nice to see we might be putting a little pipeline together from WY; wonder if it translates over to their stud in next year's class. Also, it'll be interesting to see if we're now done on Avery or will pass on Moore now that the guard spot has been filled. If the staff believes in Avery as the BPA or if Moore is open to transferring here, I'd rather pass up both Frederick and Bruninga. They could be solid 4s, but Bruninga and maybe Frederick might not the rim protectors we think of as a big. More stretch 4s, which would be nice but I don't think is super necessary for next year's team. |

How about showing a little love for ole swella who used his noggin not his nose to start the Williamson speculation: swellafelon wrote: I wonder if we might take a look at the Williamson kid from Whitney Young. He was first team all state but seems grossly under-recruited for his high school accomplishments. Plus he's Porter's favorite height at 6'4". When in doubt, look for the 6'4". |
