Hello,

I have recently joined this community, even though I have followed the Ramblers for a couple years now. One thing I have noticed are a lot of shots at Tom Kelly, and I'm just wondering why that is and how he influences the program in a way that bothers the fans here so much? As a student I tend not to understand the administrative side as much as paying attention to the athletics side of programs. What are things he has specifically done, or is it just a general attitude?

Note: To be fair, I don't think this make me bias but I have a little more invested in this. Tom Kelly and his brothers all went to the same small boarding school that my dad and uncle also went to, so I would consider them to be family friends and we do meet up from time to time. He's a great guy at least in those settings, both his daughters go to Loyola, I always see him at the games and say hi. So just purely from a program perspective why do people here tend to have such disdain for him? Actually wondering, I'm not some informant for him.

Dansen, first of all glad you are on the Board . If I could put a circle around it I would say that most uiversities do not have a go between administrator between the Athletic Director and the President...but at LU Mr. Kelly sits in between and sometimes catches crap for not knowing a lot about athletics and being the guy who puts the door stop in a lot of stuff and maybe keeps too tight a hand on the cash. Some people may have a personal agenda as well.
