| Post subject: | Tom Kelly? |
Hello, I have recently joined this community, even though I have followed the Ramblers for a couple years now. One thing I have noticed are a lot of shots at Tom Kelly, and I'm just wondering why that is and how he influences the program in a way that bothers the fans here so much? As a student I tend not to understand the administrative side as much as paying attention to the athletics side of programs. What are things he has specifically done, or is it just a general attitude? Note: To be fair, I don't think this make me bias but I have a little more invested in this. Tom Kelly and his brothers all went to the same small boarding school that my dad and uncle also went to, so I would consider them to be family friends and we do meet up from time to time. He's a great guy at least in those settings, both his daughters go to Loyola, I always see him at the games and say hi. So just purely from a program perspective why do people here tend to have such disdain for him? Actually wondering, I'm not some informant for him. |

Dansen, first of all glad you are on the Board . If I could put a circle around it I would say that most uiversities do not have a go between administrator between the Athletic Director and the President...but at LU Mr. Kelly sits in between and sometimes catches crap for not knowing a lot about athletics and being the guy who puts the door stop in a lot of stuff and maybe keeps too tight a hand on the cash. Some people may have a personal agenda as well. |
