Correct, sir. Also, myself and others tweeted at NCSU athletics and their coach calling them out. Granted, it was like 5 of us, but still.

And thank you!

Go shares a birthday with Prince William.

I wonder if the British bookies would give odds about which one of them goes completely bald first?

Happy Birthday Go! My money's on you, buddy.

The race has been on for years. He jumped out to an early lead but I'm catching up. I've got this...

How much money do we get for them opting out?

If it's like other deals, I'd guess more than $100k but less than $200k

There needs to be some NCAA intervention here from the basketball competition committee.

I guess our contract when them had a buyout clause? Perhaps that was a mistake. If there wasn't such a provision, I'd hope we did everything possible to force them to play.

I'm pretty sure it's boilerplate for these contracts. Only the numbers change.

The UNC charlotte fan in that Reddit thread said we're getting $175k. I think he is probably a reliable source; he's presumably in NC and NC St. would have to disclose a lot as a public university.

As much as this really pisses me off, I have a few takeaways from it.
1.) Keatts is such a slimy, gutless coward, and I hope Coach K and Roy Williams beat up on him so much that he gets fired in a couple of seasons.
2.) We're at a fork in the road: we can continue to play garbage teams at home (a strategy which has quite frankly always led to disappointing conference play) or understand how f*%$!ed up the system is yet still try to make lemonade out of it, go on the road, and take a paycheck or two. How Porter adjusts to the challenge will show a lot about whether or not he can take us over the hump or is too stubborn to change his ways despite the lack of concrete on-court success that would force other coaches to rethink their philosophy and try to adapt for the better.
3.) Hopefully now Tom Kelly can open up the purse strings enough so we can fly to Carbondale.
