These are three of the four "non host teams/road teams" in the Savannah Invitational. We should be playing one or two of these teams on or around 11/19 and 11/21 at Gentile Arena.

The Delta Devils!

This tournament is not good.

I hope we get Samford, and whoever the other team is. I think they will compete for a So Con title. College Sports Madness has them at 137 and 3rd in So Con. They only had 1 senior last year, and won 20 games, so they'll be experienced. If we beat Samford, they could become a good win. I really don't want the other two listed here. They are both pretty bad.

Agreed. Samford shouldn't be a bad game. This tournament really stinks though.

So if that is how they are doing it, SELA would seem headed to Loyola as well since they are playing at Valpo.

So in terms of last year's RPIs:

SE Louisiana 251
UNCW 33
Kent State 135
Loyola 184
Valpo 78
Samford 170
Miss. Valley State 333

We can complain about the quality of the tournament, but if we do our ugly RPI from last year makes us hypocites. There are no big names, and nobody from a P5 conference, which only matters in the RPI in terms of opponents' opponents record.

Kent State is predicted at 123, Samford at 137--- probably UNCW will be in the top 100. This is basically a tournament that's about equal to what we'd face in the conference. All we can do is win, and hope some other teams get an upset that boosts their RPI above what's expected.

We must have had one of the biggest discrepancies between Kenpom rating and RPI in all of D1. We were almost 100 spots worse in RPI because we couldn't win any of those road games at IL St, MO St, Evansville, and UNI. Not to mention Drake.

I don't think UNCW is likely to be the Top 100-- they lost their coach to NC State, their best player transferred to follow the coach to NC State, and their 2nd, 3rd, and 5th top scorers graduated. The new coach is a 14-year assistant from UNC.
