I wonder if this will affect some CPL coaches...
I think it's only a matter of time before this ravishes the Chicagoland high school/AAU circuit.
As for Porter, I have virtually no doubt he plays things pretty much by the book. If I'm right, he's more than just sleeping like a baby.
This coming year's coaching carousel will be a bloodbath in terms of demand (quite a few schools will make leadership changes due to the scandal in addition to the typical turnover of losing coaches) and supply (guys like Pitino and Pearl and others will never coach college basketball again, plenty of mid level guys might not take a job like Louisville if there's a threat of a multi year postseason ban or death penalty, and plenty of high level assistants will be toxic to hire).
With smaller supply and increased demand, coaching salaries this offseason are going to skyrocket. If we make the NCAA tournament this year, I bet Porter gets offered a contract well north of $2 million/year. Sure he'll only have one really good year, one good year going to the CBI, and a very mediocre rest of his tenure here. But the landscape will be such a wasteland that schools will have no choice but to overpay the mid major coach-du-jour that just took his team to the tournament despite his less than stellar overall record.
