One that is of interest is the Simple Rating System. A team's SRS is it's average margin of victory + the combination of all its opponents' ratings (SOS). It only takes into account two things: point margin and opponents played. With this in mind, Loyola is currently 4th in the MVC at 3.49. Another measure, Ken Pom has metrics reflect this season only, more real to me than RPI, which I think carries forward? They rank LU 101 ISr 157. They rate this game 50/50 with a one point spread. I hope tonight is the night LU gets over the hump with ISr. So many painfully close losses with quirky details.... I'm going to start my red wine early so I can handle this one. I'm hoping Beckmen Vineyards Block Eight Grenache gets it done. Go Ramblers! |
