CBS/Jerry Palm has us as a 12 seed facing St. Marys (https://www.cbssports.com/college-baske ... cketology/)

BDBP has us as a 12 seed facing St. Mary's (https://nicktursisbestbracketperiod.weebly.com/)

ESPN/Joe Lunardi has us as a 12 seed facing Texas Tech (http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basket ... acketology)

Hardwood and Hollywood has us as 13 seed facing Clemson (http://www.hardwoodandhollywood.com/wp- ... 597665.jpg)

Bracket WAG has us as a 12 seed facing Setonhall (http://www.bracketwag.com/)

Bracketville (ranked the most accurate bracketologist) has us as a 12 seed facing Rhode Island (https://bracketville.wordpress.com/bracketology/)

The Athletic has us as a 13 seed facing Cincinnati in the first round at Boise.

Great sentimental match, but I think that's a bad matchup for us, as a team. I'm hoping if we make it we can get to a 12 seed, where Texas Tech, Seton Hall, and some other more beatable teams reside in the 5 slot.

13s and 12s go to Boise or San Diego; auto bid 11s go to Dallas or Wichita.

Interesting enough, I found a website that pulls in all available rankings and tries to average it trying to find the best measure for bubble teams for the committee. With everybody unsure on RPI vs. kenpom and others, and with the NCAA saying they will take more predictive measures in as well it is interesting to try and find a total ranking, We currently come in at 54 with this, and it seems pretty accurate comparing all of our metrics across the board. Keep winning, maybe a bid isn't out of place if we lose in Arch Madness

Also this website currently has us in as a 12 seed according to their predictions.

Think our only shot at an at-large is to win out, lose a very close game in conference championship to a top 100 RPI team (MoSt or Bradley, at this point) and for Florida to stay in top 25 by most metrics.

That would put us at 28-5 (16-2) with one bad loss (ISUb) and one really bad loss (UWM). The two big things that hurt ISUr last year were (i) no big win (we have Florida) and (ii) two blowout losses to Wichita, including the championship--their last chance to make an impression.

Even with the above, we'd have to hope for a few other bubble teams to have weak finishes and pray for the best.

So...let's win at the Arch.

Looking at the brackets at large, our friends NC State are right on the bubble and seem to be either one of the last four in or first four out. I don't know if either of these scenarios can happen, but which would y'all rather see?

1. We make the tournament, and win at least 1 game. NC State misses the tournament because they lacked one quality win, aka them buying us out might've cost them an at-large bid.
2. We make the tournament, and NC State makes the tournament. We both win the first round game, and face off in the 2nd round. Even after the buyout, they have to play us to keep their season alive.

I don't think the 2nd scenario is likely because if we make the tournament, we'll probably be a 12 or maybe 11 seed, and NC State might be a "last four in" team, meaning they'll also be a 12 or 11 seed. Either way, I hope we either get a shot at them, or their decision to buy us out bites them in the at-large consideration.

I think Rhode Island or West Virginia would be bad match-ups. Watched a little bit of Rhode Island the other night and they looked really good. They have solid depth and good size. Of those three, I think I would prefer the Gonzaga match-up. Anyways, I'd be happy as heck to be in, but winning a game or 6 would be pretty sweet.

Anyone know why all the bracket experts have the 4/5/12/13 seeds locked in to play in either Boise or San Diego? Is that how it works every year? Or could it end up changing on Selection Sunday?
