Eli Hershkovich does a podcast on Illinois college hoops. Had Tom Crean on this week, did a segment on Loyola. It’s on ITunes, search Hersh on Hoops. LUC discussed from about 20:00-23:00. Pretty nice commentary from Crean re: Porter, Custer etc.

For those who enjoy podcasts, Adam Hoge had Porter on Sports Central on today for a nice interview. Good listen: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/spo ... 32940&mt=2

Porter's interview with that WGN podcast was the best I've ever heard him do in his 7 years at Loyola. I'm really glad he mentioned the CBI win as a stepping stone. I think that was really important. I know it cost a lot of money to do, but I think it took the lid off a lot of self-imposed mental limitations for the players and the program. The two kids who were freshmen for that CBI championship (Donte and Ben) are now the experienced seniors who are guiding this team. And those two players are 79-49 (so far) in their time at Loyola. Only the trio of Alfredrick Hughes, Andre Battle and Greg Williams won more games-- they were 83-37.

Even more important is you're seeing a template develop for winning teams on a long term basis. You've got guys like Lucas Williamson ready to step in for Ben Richardson next year. You've got the best weight training and conditioning regime we've ever had. You've got a new practice facility. You've got the examples of success of Milton Doyle and Cameron Krutwig to show how we can improve players in a system for success at the college level and beyond.
