They are getting fired up over on the SIU messageboard for Wednesday. It is weird being the team that gets everyone else's best shot. The Ramblers have done well with that so far this season. A nice road win over a Top 100 SIU team would maybe help with the extremely long shot at-large bid or perhaps help bump up to the 11 spot if we win out at the Arch. Who knows? Either way here is hoping for many more Ws this season.

--If indeed the Salukis are playing short because of injuries, our boys will come through !! In any case we will come out a winner

Don’t worry, there’s still plenty of “Loyola’s not good enough for the MVC” vibe out there. Just head on over to the Bradley board on the pjstar website, there’s a discussion right now about how we’re inferior because of our crowd size. Their tears and snobbery make what’s happening this year all the more fun.

Speaking of crowds, there are only 158 reserved seats left for Saturday (edit: 152 now...10 minutes later). Not just the lower bowl (already sold out), but all the Gold and Maroon sections. Should be a great atmosphere on Saturday!

Where is COUNTDOWN MAN, aka ahunte when you need him?

I guess I'll get the ball rolling, but it's up to COUNTDOWN MAN to pick it up from here:

158
157
156
155
154
153
152

PS. Countdown Man has some unfinished business on this other thread too: viewtopic.php?f=12&t=2180

2 comments on the attendance numbers:

1. This is the 2nd game that was offered to the admitted students, so the general admission section might be filling up as well.
2. I worry a little about who is buying the tickets. The game is against ISUr who have brought really big crowds every year. Hopefully it's getting filled with Rambler fans. I'd rather have a half emptied arena with almost all Loyola people than a full crowd with 50% being opposing fans.

SIU was initially was one of the most outraged fanbases when we joined the conference.
They had a 34-page thread debating Loyola joining the MVC....

http://www.salukination.net/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=619

When you get to page 6, a poster named IowaSaluki seems to get it. He lists many plusses and the potential we had almost five years ago and ends his post with:

Quote:
It is quite possible that in a reasonable amount of time (e.g. five to seven years), Loyola may be post-season bound.
