From the MVC board: Quote: Picked up a copy of Lindy’s College Basketball 2013-14 Preview magazine. There were no real surpises for the MVC. Conference Champion: Wichita State NCAA Trounament Team: Wichita State Player of the Year: Cleanthony Early Predicted Finish: 1. Wichita State, 2. Indiana State, 3. Northern Iowa, 4. Missouri State, 5. Bradley, 6. Loyola, 7. Illinois State, 8. Drake, 9. Evansville, and 10. Southern Illinois Lindy’s now lists the MVC in the “Mid-Major/Minor” category of basketball conferences whereas for the past several years it was listed among the “Major” conferences. They rate the MVC as the 11th best basketball conference for the 2013-14 season. Picked for 6th. That sounds right to me. A bounce here and a bounce there, and I can see us leap-frogging Bradley and MSU. |

Who do they have in front of us? I get that the ACC, XII, B1G, SEC, PAC, MWC, BE, AAC and A10 are probably picked ahead of us this year, but who is 10th? If you tell me CUSA I'll laugh. And I think within a couple or five of years, you'll see us back in around the 8th spot. |

Gonzaga, St. Mary's, and BYU all had RPIs in the top 64, and Santa Clara was #100. |

Didn't think about the WCC. Very strong at the top and very weak at the bottom. But I also admit that I pay little attention to them so if some of those teams after the big three are improving, I could see it. But it won't last. Once you guys and Bradley get things rolling the MVC will be looking fairly good again. |

I was pleasantly surprised to read that Milton Doyle has been picked in Lindy's as the MVC Newcomer of the Year. I am curious about what position he will play. Will he be at shooting guard or at small forward? |
