Hey all if this is already being discussed in a different topic sorry for the duplication.

What are people’s plans for traveling to the first round? Obviously we won’t know till the 11th where we are playing but looks like Boise is a real possibility, and flights from Chicago are getting expensive.

Has anyone heard is the University going to be organizing anything?

I called the ticket office this morning but no one was answering yet.

Kevin

I haven't heard anything... but please post here if you find anything out. There's obviously a lot of us here that are looking for this information.

An email after the game from Loyola said they will announce ticket policies today. Hopefully that will include a travel package, but it's such short notice that I'm not sure if it can be pulled off.

This was the e-mail sent out by the Athletics Dept.

NCAA Ticket Policy Announced!

After winning the Missouri Valley Conference tournament championship yesterday, Loyola is headed to the NCAA tournament for the first time since 1985! The NCAA tournament bracket, including site selection and dates, will be released on Sunday, March 11 at 5 pm Central.

Loyola will receive a limited number of tickets from the NCAA for its first round game that will be allocated to student-athlete guests, coach guests, university staff, students, and Loyola fans.
How to Request Tickets
Ticket requests from fans will be accepted beginning Mon., Mar. 5 at 4 pm through Mon., Mar. 12 at 4 pm. Requests must be made by calling the Loyola ticket office at 773.508.9653. No online or email requests will be accepted. The ticket office will have extended hours Mon., Mar. 5 and Tues., Mar. 6 until 8 pm.

In order to submit a request, fans (including students) must provide credit card information and select the sites they are willing to travel (Boise, Dallas, Pittsburgh, Wichita, Charlotte, Detroit, Nashville, or San Diego). Credit cards will only be charged if Loyola is selected to play at the site indicated and tickets are secured.
Ticket Request Policy

Fans can request up to four tickets per site. Priority is given to current Loyola Athletic Fund donors and current basketball season ticket holders. Please note that a request is not a guarantee the order will be fulfilled. All individuals making requests will be notified via email the evening of Mon., Mar. 12 if they have received tickets and the credit card has been charged.
Ticket Prices

Single-session tickets to the first and second rounds are $100 per session. If Loyola advances to the second round, fans who received tickets to the first round will automatically receive second round tickets and be charged an additional $100. All ticket orders will have a $10 processing fee per order.

Alternatively, fans can also purchase tickets through the host site.

Who is seriously considering going? I am planning on going no matter the location. Some cities would be easier than others. Driving is the better option if possible as you can leave if the Ramblers lose in the first round. Booking a flight requires staying the entire weekend (unless you want to miss the 2nd round game).

Thurs. sites:
Pittsburgh: drive on Wed. afternoon. Stay at least until Friday morning (hopefully Sunday!)
Wichita: fly Wed. evening. book return flight Sun. morning (Saturday game could be late)
Dallas: Fly Wed. evening. book return flight Sun. morning (Saturday game could be late)
Boise: Fly Wed. evening (if direct) morning if connect, book return flight Sun. morning (Saturday game could be late)

Fri. sites:
Charlotte: Fly Thurs. evening, book return Mon. Morning (Sunday game could be late)
Detroit: EASIEST! Drive Thurs. evening (if early Fri game) or drive early Fri AM if late Friday game. If LU loses early game drive back same day; if late game and lose stay until Sat. morning. If LU wins drive back after the game Sunday.
Nashville: Drive Thurs. AM. Stay until at least Sat. AM. Drive back Mon. or late Sunday if LU plays on Sun.
San Diego: Fly Thurs. AM or PM, book return flight Monday.

Depends on the date/time and location. If we play Thursday, I probably wouldn’t be able to take two days off work. If it’s Dallas (direct flight from almost anywhere, including Springfield), or Nashville (only about a 5 hour drive from Spfld), I’ll probably go. Detroit would probably be about the same drive for me as Nashville, now that I think about it. Pittsburgh may be a little longer, but I’ve dont that drive and back before as well. San Diego May be doable if we win round 1. In other words, the only likely hard no would be Boise.

You can book a flight to Dallas this week for under $50 on United...amazing. Hope that is true for next week.
