Neither Benedictine University in Lisle or Benedictine College in the Kansas City area have this game on their schedules.

I really like the Ball State and Furman games. Good, solid adds.

Ball State was picked at #96 in the College Sports Madness Top 144 Preview. Furman had an RPI of 96 last season.

The email Porter sent was really nice:

As a season ticket holder, we wanted you to be the first to get the dates of our non-conference schedule in your calendars! We get back on the court for the first time since the Final Four on November 6 against UMKC and host eight home games before Christmas, including a rematch of our Sweet 16 game against Nevada.

Scheduling is difficult every season, and this year was no exception, but we wanted to assemble as difficult a nonconference schedule as possible and I think we accomplished that goal. People talked about Power 5 conferences going to 20 league games and how much that would impact scheduling and we felt the reality of that situation this offseason as we tried to get games against those teams. We have a nice mix of home and road games, along with some neutral site contests, including a meeting with Maryland.

The game against Nevada will be a huge attraction for our fans and we are excited to be starting a series with a fellow Jesuit school in Saint Joseph’s. It was also a priority for us to get Marques Townes a game close to home and although we couldn’t get to New Jersey, we expect him to have a great turnout of family and friends for the games in Philadelphia and Baltimore. Our students make a difference and play a huge role in our success at home, so we wanted to get as many games at Gentile Arena as possible in order to maximize the impact of our crowd.

I can't thank you enough for your support of Loyola Basketball! We look forward to seeing you in Gentile Arena very soon!

Go Ramblers!

Yea that Benedictine game is interesting... Doesn't Porter have some history with the IL school?

That’s going to be a problem for some.

At least UIC, Philadelphia, & Baltimore are on Saturday’s.

(Despite being a STH - I might actually make it to more R/N noncon’s than H noncon’s simply because of my schedule )

Maryland takes place two days before finals start; then Norfolk and Benedictine will be the week following finals. I actually kinda like Benedictine as a tune up game after finals where the team may be a bit sluggish mentally before going to St. Joes.

All in all rock solid slate. I agree that I like Furman and Ball State; not household names but solid teams.
