If the above is true the non con schedule is complete.

*The Detroit Mercy website has a home game v.s. Loyola-Maryland. I believe that was the "Loyola" talked about on their website. So assuming Loyola-Chicago is not playing Detroit-Mercy there still is one more game listed as "TBA".

I’m still not convinced that there will be a non-D1 game *if* we can find a quality opponent for that slot. I know that’s been practice in past years, but we should be at the point where the Grambling States of the world have become those games.

That's big news. Glad to see this game happen. I like the fact that it's at a semi-neutral site about 32 miles from campus.

Maryland was 18-13 last season with a better non-con season than in conference. They were 10-3 in non-con games with a nice win over Butler, but they were 8-10 in the B1G. They might have made the NIT or better by winning one of their three close losses (4 points or less) to Indiana, Penn State, or Nebraska.

This year they're going to be as good or better, with 50.9% of their minutes returning. They've got a great point guard in Anthony Cowan (15.8 Pts, 4.4 Reb, 5.1 Ast as a redshirt sophomore last year), and they have 5-star center/forward Jalen Smith leading a top-10 recruiting class.

Interesting history for that arena. It was the site of the 1969 NBA All Star Game. I saw an indoor soccer game there in 1982-- it's near the Inner Harbor and Camden Yards.

Pretty good slate away from home. I'll be curious if we do another exhibition with Lewis before the season starts

Pretty good schedule overall. Would have liked one buy game against a perennial tournament power 5 team (like we had Florida last year). As of now, the only tourney 'lock' I see in our non-conf is Nevada. Maryland and BC will likely be solid bubble teams. And I've seen varying predictions on St. Joes / Richmond. The other teams are kind of 'meh'.

The St. Joe game is Saturday December 22nd At the Palestra in Philadelphia on 235 S. 33rd St. It opened in 1927 and seats 8725. It is often called "The Cathedral of College Basketball" and is home to the Penn Quakers where former Loyola AD Grace Calhoun is the AD. It reminds me of Fordham University on campus arena in the Bronx. Should be a great game and a great venue.
