Post subject:  Restoring the Roar?

Is the phrase "Restoring the Roar", as used in the presser announcing the start of basketball practice, just a one-time rhetorical flourish, or was it conceived by the Athletic Department brain trust to be the slogan for this year's Ramblers? http://www.loyolaramblers.com/sports/m- ... 13aab.html

Because as a slogan it's just...awful, difficult to pronounce, disrespectful of past teams, and easy prey for parody. This last objection, of course, makes me hope they use it; the jokes practically write themselves.

I guess we'll find out soon if "Restore the Roar" is here to stay.

Restore the howl doesn't have the same ring to it.

Erasin' the Jason works for me as this year's slogan.

Better still, REPLACE M. GRACE.

Thanks to ahunte for pointing out that wolves don't roar, they howl; it inspired me to compose this little "Restore the Roar" cheer:

On o mat o poe ia
Hip Hip Hooray
This is what the animals say:

Ducks quack
Dogs bark
Pigs oink back
On Noah's ark.

Monkeys howl
Wolves do too
All of them
Except for Lu

Lu don't stutter
Lu don't snore
What he utters
Is a ROAR.

Lu's roar is loud
Lu's roar's sublime
And he's so proud
It also rhymes...(with "restore")

RESTORE THE ROAR
RESTORE THE ROAR
RESTORE THE ROAR
