A lot of good posts here. Just wanted to thank Pat for everything he's done at Loyola, and like swella said, I do hope he remains involved. (Wasn't there a time several years ago when Pat was employed elsewhere but was still doing PA?) Like others, I am disappointed to hear that it was not amicable.
Pat was one of the basketball managers in the mid-late 80s, under Gene Sullivan. He was working in finance on LaSalle Street through most of the 90s, and was also the PA voice through this period. I think he decided that the stress level and work hours in trading were unpalatable, so he made a career change into education in the late 90s/early 2000s. He got a Master's in the education area at Northeastern, and worked in the northern suburbs at a school district before taking a job doing marketing and advertising at Loyola. So he's done PA (I think continuously) since the late 1980s-- 30 years.
