This sucks big time. I guess they had to save money somehow to pay for Porter's raise, so they decided to balance the books on the back of one of their longest and most loyal employees.
Smells like a Tom Kelly move...

Cmon Nate !! A severance package IS the moral thing to do---Last I looked LUC ia a MORAL institution--

A package for PAT would hardly make a dent in PORTER's NEW ARRANGEMENT--and I doubt PM would countenance such a thing !!

No one worked harder to keep Bo. This man stuffed the ballots at a women’s volleyball game to circumvent the AD back then. Loyola legend.

As an HR Professional I would be completely shocked if Pat's position was phased out (ie. eliminated) and they didn't offer him a severance package. He is in a protected class, and had a long tenure. The severance package would protect the school from legal action & not offering one would be a completely unnecessary risk that I just can't believe the school would take.

It's my understanding that this happened before or very early in the NCAA run. So Porter's raise had nothing to do with it.

Im pretty sure he was still with the Department during the Tournament. When I saw him in San Antonio, I believe he was still working for the school.
