Verbal Commits reports Jacob Hutson signed his LOI.

http://www.verbalcommits.com/players/jacob-hutson

On edit: I'm wondering whether Verbal Commits is confusing our Jacob Hutson with a different Jacob Hutson who just signed a LOI to play baseball. Odd that Loyola wouldn't put out a press release like they did when Hebb signed.

On double edit: I did a little checking. A Letter of Intent commits the school to provide an athletic scholarship for the next year. I'm thinking the fact (my presumption) that Hutson hasn't signed a LOI suggests he is going to be a preferred walk-on next year and probably redshirt as part of a 4 for 5 scholarship deal.

After starting their season on a 3 game losing streak, Coffeyville Herritage High School has won 6 out of their last 7. Baylor Hebb has been great early in the season, frequently scoring in the mid to upper 20's including a 44 point outburst (albeit in a loss). He’s such a smooth player, and scores at will on all 3 levels, kind of a Clayton/Marques hybrid in terms of scoring ability on all 3 levels. Obviously needs to put on weight to deal with physicality, but almost every freshman does.

He’s also caught the attention of BallisLife, easily the most popular mixtape series. Here’s a few videos…

Not a big highlight mixtape guy, but I've watched this five times.

Baylor Hebb continues to put up huge numbers in Dallas; he leads the Fort Worth area in scoring. Looks like he's starting to add some weight too which is a good sign.

So we have two signed for next year and have one spot left...but according to verbal commits ..no offers out.....Are we waiting for a plug and play graduate transfer? or are we going to save one for the following year ...or a transfer to balance the classes more ?

I think we have one spot next year total (Bruno's) and two already coming in...meaning we are currently one over. Someone posted that Hutson is going to walk-on his first year, but I am not sure if I believe that--he has some decent D1 offers (Bonnies, UNI, Bradley, George Washington, SIU, etc.). Not sure why he would turn down scholarships there to walk on here.

Assuming Hutson is getting a scholarship, we would be one over next year.

Nate, we have no 2020 scholarships left. In fact we would be one over the 13 scholarship limit if Hutson hadn't agreed to a nonscholarship red shirt freshman year.
Get with the program!

I heard that Hutson's family has some very close ties to the university which was more important than the scholarship.
