We are currently projected at 86% to win the regular season crown per Hacksaw:

Am I the only one that thinks 86% is crazy high!?!?! We only have a 1 game lead with 7 games to go and 4 of those are on the road... It makes sense that we would be the favorite... but that percentage just sounds to high to be true.

I think part of it is tiebeakers. We are ahead of everybody in NET, so we basically already have tiebreakers over Drake (sweep), IL St, Valpo, and SIU. Even if we were to finish 12-6 it would still be hard for anybody to catch us.

We are also slight favorites (1-2 points) in three of the road games.

I'm sure I ask this every year... but how do the tiebreakers work again?

It is important to win the conference. It's important for this year for seeding in Arch Madness and it is important for us to establish that we are the program to beat in the MVC. When the Shockers left, they vacated the team to beat title in the MVC. I hope that we can become that team. Two conference titles in a row would give us the edge. As far as being the statistical favorite, we should be. We have a one game lead and if you look at the standings and the teams that we play, we play some of the weaker teams in the league. We have two revenge games at home. I think we will go 5 and 2 in our last seven and win the Valley.

First tiebreaker is h2h matchups. So we'd have that over Drake and Indiana State as we have already swept both. We split with ISUr so we go to next tiebreaker. TBD on Valpo, SIU, MoSt, UNI, Evansville, Bradley.

Then it goes to NET rankings. We have the best NET ranking in the league. Closest is Drake 14 spots below us, but they don't matter since we swept them.

So the only team that could realistically have a tiebreaker over us that would actually matter is MoSt if they beat us at home. We have a 2 game lead on them currently.

For the record, ISUr is currently 180 in NET while we are 125.

No longer control our own destiny. We need to win out and hope Missouri State drops one. They have a few tough games left (vs UNI, @ISUr and vs Drake).
