The five-way tie scenario:

Wednesday....
UNI beats Loyola, Drake beats Indiana State, Illinois State beats Missouri State

Saturday....
UNI beats Indiana State, Illinois State beats SIU, Missouri State beats Drake, Loyola beats Bradley

Loyola, UNI, Illinois State, Missouri State, and Drake all finish at 11-7....

I don’t mean to burst your bubble JCT, but ISU is currently 8-8, not 9-7

Yep, you're right. I started with the four-way tie, and miscalculated when ISUr had to win two game to make the four-way tie work.

Thanks... maybe someone could figure out the round-robin if the four-way tie.... it would come down to that last game of the season between Drake and Missouri State, a game EVERYONE at the beginning of the season thought would be totally meaningless.

I think UNI wins the conference in the four-way tie scenario based on their sweep of MSU and splits with Loyola/Drake. They'd be 4-2 in the round robin.

2*

*But really one because of the tiebreaker advantage over Drake.

Just win, baby.

The worst we can be is a two seed in the tournament, which means, regardless of how we do against Bradley, our first game will be against a team who played on Thursday.

The difference between having to potentially play the 7 seed who will at worst be a 9 conference win team playing pretty well, or Indiana State/Valpo could be a big difference though. Let’s just win Saturday.

Last season, Bradley came to Gentile Arena and thought they got totally screwed by the refs in their 81-65 thorough drubbing. I was downstate then, listening to their radio broadcast. Their radio crew was beside themselves. They whined and complained as though it was all officiating and treacherous trickery by the big city grifters. Loyola couldn't be that good, and Bradley couldn't be that bad. So obviously, officials were doing it.

I hope that this year, on senior day for Clayton Custer and Marques Townes, when we have a chance to clinch a 2nd consecutive MVC regular season title, we bury the whining, complaining, cloying, simpering, smarmy jerks from Bradley by a 2-1 margin. 70-30 is a good score. Use the home court officiating advantage like they do.... by complaining to the refs until they can't stand it anymore, and have a home crowd so loud the refs can't decide evenly.

May they wilt like room temperature iceberg lettuce and turn sickly yellow like junior high school mustard on processed American cheese slices.
