Anyone stick around after the game? He got absolutely pelted with boos and insults thrown at him. He looked for a second like he would fight someone in the stands. He walked off giving them a death stare with a Hinson 4 Governor sign in the background. ![]() One of the craziest things I’ve seen. Really feel bad for him. |

I’m a Rambler, but I’m also a Saluki, and I’ll say I am a little sad to see it end like this for him. When I was in law school at SIU, that team was an absolute machine, going to the tournament every year, and the atmosphere was unreal. When Barry Hinson took over it was a dumpster fire, and the school was headed downhill. He kept them treading water, but it was time for a change. I wish him all the best. |

If that happened after the game, that’s a real bummer. If those people are real “fans” they should have known that was his last game (it was pretty well known in the circles about “the pact”), and just left him be. The sad thing is, nobody probably feels for him more than porter. I’m sure it was tough being a valley player, getting a shot in your old conference, and falling flat. Not a lot of guys get a second shot. It worked out for Porter, but sadly, Hinson could never get over the hump. I really felt bad when I watched the press conference and he apologized ... genuinely... for failing. The way he’s been treated this year by their fans, it’s pretty impressive he could do that. I wouldn’t have... Sometimes I still feel bad for Larry Farmer. I thought he was a good guy...nice guy....but.... yeah... On a happier note - Jim Whitesell sucked and had no business being a D1 head coach. Thank god we have Porter. |

Barry is an amazing person. The way some treated him really leaves a pit in my stomach TBH. |

Who would want to coach in this league if one of the most prolific and venerable coaches in the conference is sent off like that? And more immediately for Loyola, if Bryan Mullins is offered the job does this episode (on top of SIU's declining enrollment and 9th place budget in the conference) give him serious pause before accepting? |

I didn't stay for the game, and now I'm glad I didn't. I guess the Cheeto-eaters got the last laugh this time. Pretty sad to dance on a guy's grave. If Mullins goes there, which I feel pretty confident he will now, I hope he gets treated much better than that. I will wish him success of course. Second place every year counts as success, right? |
