Do we lose Valentine and his recruiting? Does Gordon leave?, Maybe Dokubo tries to get away from Loyola?

Hope we dont lose recruits over this

Why do we always assume the worst? Maybe this is an opportunity to add someone, like one of the handful of Porter’s former players who are currently working their way up at other schools. Isn’t Jeff White an assistant at WIU, for example?

From what I’m hearing, there’s a chance some of the current SIU assistants stay. And I wouldn’t be shocked if Mullins’ brother (current IlSU assistant) goes with him.

I was going to say White would be a great fit for SIU. I doubt we really lose anyone. He'll have 3 spots: 1 for his brother, 1 for the oldest Smithpeters brother who is a JUCO coach down there, and probably a third for one of his former SIU teammates. I think he has a couple who are high school head coaches.

I can't really see Bryan trying to poach Porter's recruits, much less staff.

Completely agree, and for what it's worth, coaches come to work with porter, who's been churning out assistants left and right to high major jobs/head coaching gigs over the last few years. Being an assistant on this staff is generally a good career move. Also, it's not like Mullins was pulling every single string here the last few years; it's been Moser teams and Moser's staffs. We lost a really good assistant to an expected and natural career progression... but the program doesn't completely reset.
