The Iowa vs TN game has been crazy. I left the bar when TN was up by 25 and when I got back to my apartment Iowa came back to take the game to overtime, what happened? Hahah

With the exception of the Iowa/Tennessee game, a pretty boring tournament. Part of that is because Loyola is not in it. Hard to compare to the excitement when you are there and your team has a great run.

Loyola not being in the tournament has definitely made it less exciting for us rambler fans. I think In general though it’s just been a lame tournament, all of my non-Loyola friends seem to agree.

They were lucky to escape. Certainly they were having some flashbacks!

I will say it was nice watching Nevada lose after they kicked our ass this year. Their players were pretty rowdy to our fans earlier in the year at Gentile. I was happy to see them go in the first round.

Nevada, New Mexico State, and Wisconsin did a number on my brackets.

Loyola not being in it has changed the way I thought of things this year. Last year, I was just so happy and excited that my team was doing well that I didn't care how my bracket ended up. This year, it seems like I only care who wins and have lost some of the fun of just enjoying games.

I think there's good games that have come down to the end this year. I've enjoyed watching those games, but it's just there's only been about a dozen of those ones. Also, a big problem this year is there's been almost no Cinderellas. The Sweet 16 has all the 1-seeds, all the 2-seeds, all the 3-seeds, 2 4-seeds, 1 5-seed, and a 12-seed who won the Pac 12 tournament so they don't feel like a true Cinderella. The mystique of a relatively unknown school taking down the big boys just isn't there this year, and I think it's lead to a lot of people feeling indifferent this tournament.

So I got in a squares pool this year....like a super bowl pool.......you get a number for the winner and a number for the loser.......if the score ends that way you win..and that holds for every game in the tournament with higher payouts progressively as you go....no worrying about who won or lost ...and I already won a game getting me over the top and now I can just enjoy, everything else is gravy.

In case you missed it yesterday, Marques will be one of 4 seniors representing the Valley in the Dos Equis 3x3 Tournament during the Final Four Weekend.
