So interesting timing.....DeP could have initiated this to finish the deal close to the start of the season to gather some media attention.....Coach L could have done an ultimatum at a very opportune time for him if he has said I will announce that this is my last year unless I get an extension....or this has to do with recruiting....either Coach says I cant get guys if they dont know I am coming back...or they have someone on the hook who says he wont sign till he knows the Coach will be there for a while....interesting none the less |

This is very interesting and weird. From casual observation it sounds like he has been doing a pretty good job of recruiting talent, but as far as winning on the court, Depaul has been terrible the past 4 seasons. He’s 48-72 on his second time around, and hasn’t finished higher than 8th in the conference. He already has a 3 game suspension going into the year. DePaul is gonna give him 4 more years for that? |

Looked up Depaul's schedule. They play Northwestern, UIC and even the University of Chicago. Surprised they didn't also schedule IIT, Lewis, St.Xavier and Moody Bible Institute if they were looking to save on travel costs. |
