LU has some hope in spite of 4 of our 13 scholarship players being out, 3 with injuries & the 4th a transfer who has to red-shirt (unless his appeal is granted).

What is left are our 3 very talented freshmen (Kennedy, Welch, & Wojcik) who played together on the very talented Illinois Wolves AAU team that had a coach who used the Loyola system.

The other 6 players are all upperclassmen, 3 of whom (Krutwig, Williamson, & Uguak) are returning starters front last year’s team that finished 1st in the MVC.

2 others have had 2 years of college ball (Hall: Conference Freshman of the Year, followed by 1st Team All Conference in his 2nd year in Division II) & (Pipkins: playing for Division I Cal State Northridge as a freshman & was 1st Team All Regional for Paris CC as a sophomore).

6-1 Kennedy is the only point, although Williamson (who will start at the 2), can take over when Kennedy needs a break.

Other than Kennedy, we have 4 players who are 6-4 for shooting guards & 4 players with size, 6-6, 6-7, 6-8, & 6-9.

It will great experience for the freshmen & hopefully we will have 2 or 3 of the injured (& clearance for Norris who was on the Horizon All-freshman Team last year) back to play when it counts when MVC play begins.

Frank Agunanne is out 5 weeks with a cast for an injured thumb.

Keith Clemons is out 5-6 weeks after knee surgery for torn meniscus.

The injury news came just on Monday I believe. It’s possible he played through it or hurt himself afterwards.
