Agreed. First game with a new PG, and we we able to win on the road. Clearly some things to work on, but that’s not a bad thing for a young team, IMO. Win by double digits, but with room for improvement. I’ll absolutely take it.

Great road win! This should help build some confidence. I could not believe that technical on Hall near the end of the game, though. He tripped and fell. What a horseshit call.

The new flopping rule is possibly the stupidest thing the NCAA has ever done.

It was a good win. All I’m saying is it could have been a GREAT win. We need to get that throat stomp mentality when we get up big. It’s still a work in progress, and quite frankly I don’t care what happens wins/losses wise these finally non-con games as long as we figure out our rotations before Valpo. That is going to be a tough road game to start the real season.

Great game overall. Pipkins is really starting to settle in.

He's not there yet, but he kind of gives me some Earl Peterson vibes. I like the look of playing Marquise and Clemons together... lots of lineup options to experiment with.

Also... KEEP SHOOTING THE 3 AHER.

I think with our athleticism and quickness this year-- Pipkins, Clemons, Williamson, Hall, Wojcik, and Uguak.... we could put together some dynamite presses and traps to throw a wrench in other teams' offenses in late game situations. There's no reason our opponents should be allowed to roll the ball out to the half court line before picking it up while they're digging into our lead.

Did you make a representative listing of athletic and quick players on this year's roster and NOT include Marquise?!

I guess that goes a long way showing how many weapons we have this year...

DEPTH, that was key for the game and helped weather the storm. Having Clemons and Big Frank playing long stretches helped keep guys fresh. Agree with most posters that it’s disconcerting to almost blow a large lead again, at least they were able to hang on, think it’s a sign of a young team learning to win.

Clemons was great, 3 charges were huge, hit some threes, the offense ran well. Impressed for his first d 1 game. Pipkins also played great, tons of athleticism and he can hit jump shots. He needs to play more.

Overall, things to work on (layups - misses too many gimmies today, free throws, defending the 3 still) but we should all be happy with the win and the way the team played. Feeling optimistic for the rest of the non con and conference play.

Another thing that needs to be said.... Great new voices on the board this year, (and some more vocal veteran posters, too). Love the insights and perspective. Keep it up, everybody!!
