The Flames beat Youngstown State at Gentile tonight before approx. 800 fans. Their stadium was booked for a college robotics competition. I wonder what the attendance there was? Sounds like a major oversight by the Athletic Department in failing to reserve the date.(Or else they're thinking of dropping men's basketball for robotics...) |

I hope they enjoyed seeing of the Final Four banner, new practice facility...and left a decent size check on their way out the door. |

UIC knocked off #1 seed Wright State today by 17. They will play for the Horizon championship tomorrow against the winner of Green Bay/Northern Kentucky. |

Good for them. That's awesome! P.S. Wright State had a double bye as top seed. This was their first game in the HL Tourney. |

Was disappointed they didn’t want to continue the rivalry, that was always my favorite game of the season while in school. Hope they can punch their ticket, will be pulling for them. |

Did UIC wear their uniforms with the Missouri Valley patch on them? |

UIC hires Luke Yaklich, former Texas, Michigan, IL State assistant/associate HC. He is one of the only names on my shortlist for Loyola if/when Porter leaves. Will be interesting to watch what he does at UIC. I would expect their style to change dramatically. Still hope we can grab him in a few years if need be. (But I'm a Porter Stan and I don't want him go ![]() |

Cause I'm bored in this stay-at-home order, I want to ask a hypothetical: Say we make another great run in the postseason next year and Porter leaves. UIC wins 10 or fewer games next season. Is Yaklich still on the list? I think a good example of what Yaklich is now would be Patrick Baldwin 2 or 3 seasons ago. Currently though, unless Milwaukee has a great season next year, Baldwin would most certainly lose the press conference if we were to hire him and his 37–58 record in the Horizon League to replace PM. Moreover, how much would we need to bump up Yaklich's pay and to buy out the UIC contract to swipe him? I think for Loyola's next hire, our head coach should make no more than $600k, and we should pump resources into making sure our assistant coaching staff is Big East caliber. That would allow us to bring in a solid associate head coaching candidate to be able to promote from within, which we quite frankly don't have on staff currently. |
