So Mertz was my resident hall..separating the Centenial Forum and Mertz was an enclosed lobby on the bottom, level and an open plaza on the top...with stairs on the north and south. Centennial Forum had the dining hall the 2nd floor and the commuter center on the bottom. with some student organizations housed in some offices. There was also a theater attached to Mertz on the first level. I have heard Mertz referred to as the largest Jesuit erection in the world.

I let ahunte pick the low-hanging fruit.
To mix metaphors, you don't call in Leonard Bernstein to tune your piano.

Speaking of Loyola phalluses, how many remember the sculpture once attached to the wall of Cudahy Library near the north entrance:

So that's what the gaping hole at the base of the sculpture is supposed to represent!
Never occurred to me before..

Seriously, I think the Cudahy library location could use an outdoor sculpture to relieve the monotony of the blank limestone wall.
I think something along the lines of Crown Fountain in Millennium Park would look really cool there.
Have students sign up to have their images projected on a giant limestone slab. Add a water element. Call it "The Swella".
Sounds like a good idea to me. Maybe JC64 could underwrite it.

On edit: Just realized this would be a great recruiting tool. Imagine a prospect on a campus visit walking by and seeing a giant image of himself in front of the library!
