I heard the student section was ~800 people. Not bad! They added a lot to the atmosphere, and it was obvious that the players and coaches were glad to have the support.
Robbie - you should donate the money to pay for everyone's hot dog and soda.

Good START in trying to get students out. Can it be duplicated and be consistant before we enter conference play, only time will tell. Will students come out without being given free food ? Nice to see Coach Moser go to the student section after the game as the players did also. Hope these gestures help energize and solidify the student fan base. |

GREAT student section last night! Large turnout and they stayed involved in the game. They made the place pretty loud at some key points. The two things that will keep students coming - 1) free food, and 2) most importantly WINNING. |

I think the face painting and the wolves pep rally before really helped get alot of students to the game that probably wouldn't have gone otherwise. As a student on campus I can tell that the attitude is changing and I feel we are going to have better student turn out this year. I was really happy with how loud the student section was. One of my favorite games I have attended. |

I think getting the students to keep coming to the games is key to get alumni attendance up as well. The energy level in the arena is completely different when a student section is full and active. It's much more entertaining going to the game when the students are there. I think its really obvious when school is on break! I would love to see the school do a pep rally (aka free food) before every game. These poor college students will do anything for a free hotdog and bag of chips. And i'd argue that by incurring the additional expense of food, that the number of ticket sales would also increase. In my opinion the school would make money on the investment of free food (how much could a hot dog and bag of chips cost?). Get one additional family of four to come, but a couple beers, hotdogs and popcorn and LU picked up an easy $100 bill. That pays for a lot of student hotdogs.... |

Glad to see some students show up. They did so despite the fact that the President's Ball was held the same night at Navy Pier: President's Ball The President's Ball will be held on November 8, 2013 at Navy Pier in the Grand Ballroom. Come celebrate the achievement of our President's Medallion winners! 8 pm - Midnight Navy Pier, Grand Ballroom Tickets $10 Limit two per Loyola ID Semi formal attire Buses will begin departing LSC at 7:30 and will leave as they fill up. So hundreds of students were being hauled off campus just after tip-off. Loyola is too big to simply clear the calendar every time there's a basketball game, but scheduling two major, university-wide, events at the same time diminishes both of them. I'm sure the ball was scheduled well before the Milwaukee game was finalized, but it should have been known that Friday was opening night for college basketball. |
