Norlander's "1-357" rankings puts us at #81 (https://www.cbssports.com/college-baske ... pproaches/) with the below summary: Cameron Krutwig is 20-or-so good games away from finishing off one of the best careers in the history of the program. Check this stat via the MVC: "Last year, he (Krutwig) became the first player in the storied history of the MVC to finish a season ranked in the top five in the league in scoring (5th- 15.1), rebounding (2nd- 8.1), assists (3rd- 4.2) and field goal percentage (3rd- .563)." Porter Moser has five starters back on a team nearly as dangerous as the one that made the 2018 Final Four. 1. UNI (#46) 2. Loyola (#81) 3. Bradley (#126) 4. Indiana State (#130) 5. Drake (#131) 6. Missouri State (#148) 7. Valpo (#161) 8. Illinois State (#170) 9. Southern Illinois (#184) 10. Evansville (#241) Pundits seem split on whether Loyola or UNI is a top 50 team and Valley favorite. Also, SIU is completely under-ranked in nearly every preview I have seen. I think they are a top 5 Valley team. |

Yes...what is the deal with SIU...they performed beyond expectations last year...have some good returning players and a some decent recruits....and as we know Mullens can coach.....very strange. |

SIU has 3 (4 if you count the big kid who got cheap-shotted at Bradley) returning players, and they're all sophomores. They'll have an abbreviated non-conference schedule to gel. Their incoming recruits are probably underrated, but they're not guaranteed to be stars. They could surprise, but it'll be tough, uphill sledding for them. I really wouldn't be shocked if they're not ready for prime time this year. |

Joe Lunardi's ubiquitous Bracketology has the Ramblers as an 11-seed in a 68 team (standard) bracket. He also has 2 other hypothetical smaller brackets just in case Covid-19 issues force such a thing. What is interesting, to me, is that he also has Northern Iowa in the 68 team tournament as the Auto Qualifier. Which means an at-large bid for Loyola. https://www.espn.com/espn/feature/story ... acketology |
