I wonder if a new AD would stand in the way of a LU, NU, DPU, UIC round-robin tournament?

I also wondering if Northwestern will be looking a few miles south for a new AD...

I was gonna mention that too, but I also wonder if Northwestern would want an AD without any experience directing over a football program? Or if that AD a few miles south would make the jump to a football school? He's a former basketball player who's spent his entire AD career at two small schools without football, and despite a good team this year, it's not like they're a powerhouse in the Big 10.

Morton Schapiro (Northwestern President) is a huge football fan. Also, as President of the Big Ten Council of Presidents and Chancellors, he's probably more aware than most Presidents of the outsized role football plays in the economic picture of the Big 10. If I had to guess, I think Northwestern strongly prefers someone with experience at a football school. I wouldn't be surprised if Watson doesn't even get an interview.

With that being said, Schapiro has never had to hire an AD before (at a D-1 school), so there's no track record to look at. Still, if Watson gets the job, that would be a real surprise to me.

One interesting name to watch is Boo Corrigan, the AD at NC State. Every place he's worked has been a football school and he led Army's football revival as their AD. He's also had plenty of experience at schools with tough admissions standards. The question is whether he's be interested in the job since he's already at the help of a P5 school.

The CALVID-19 vaccine is only in Phase 1 trials at this point.
Pray the rosary that it proves safe and efficacious to rid the world of this pestilential scourge!
