I think there would have to be a lot of caveats to this. 1. Would have to be held at a neutral site. The only place to do this would be the United Center. Expensive. 2. To make it more economically feasible, you might have to bring in Illinois, Notre Dame, Valpo, or Northern Illinois. 3. You'd have to have a solid, multi-year sponsor and total media buy-in. 4. Longstanding peeves have to be set aside. Even with these seemingly intractible differences surmounted, it would take several years to get this thing into the popular consciousness. Is it worth a try? Yes. If this qualifies as a MTE, that would help. |

I do not know the ins and outs--but if this bunch sans Notre Dame or Illinois--or both, with proper backing , it could go immediately. Neutal site ?? Perhaps not--Merely rotate school to school. I might bring Valpo and N Illinois. Notre Dame and Illinois might think it is beneath their dignities.---Maybe not--Who knows ? I truly would bring one or both in if it would help get the job done---Irish first as NW would sooth TRib's sensibilities what with their love of all things Big Ten. It really could and should work. Selfishly speaking this thing would enhance our rise. |
