I was at an all day meeting at C St H--I guess I did not pray hard enough ! Or werte we homered ?? I always have suspected this whenever we ventured south over the years.

This is an ugly and familiar pattern.

January 5, 2013 - 50-36 lead at home over YSU with 14:10 left turns into 68-66 loss. (Outscored 32-16 in final 14 minutes)
January 11, 2013 - 36-25 lead at home over Wright State with 17:42 left to play turns into 62-61 loss. (Outscored 37-25 in final 17 1/2 minutes)
January 20, 2013 - 38-24 lead at Chicago State with 17:45 left to play gets forced to overtime. (Outscored 33-19 through end of regulation)
February 4, 2013 - 53-40 lead at Wright State with 6:34 left turns into 62-58 loss. (Outscored 22-5 in final 6 1/2 minutes)
November 12, 2013 - 51-39 lead at Tennessee Tech with 15:26 left to play turns into 74-69 loss. (Outscored 34-18 in closing 15 minutes)
November 16, 2013 - 40-21 lead at Tulane with 17:25 left to play turns into 65-59 loss. (Really? Outscored 44-19 in final 17 1/2 minutes with Tulane's leading scorer and best free throw shooter in foul trouble/fouled out?)

Plus: November 28, 2012 (14-point home lead over Tennessee Tech with 11:44 left to play reduced to one point with 9 seconds left before two free throws), and December 15, 2012 (Outscored 13-3 in final 6:36 at home after piling up an 18-point lead).

That's 8 second-half double-digit point collapses in the past 28 games, and five losses when leading by 12+ points in the second half out of the last 21 games. I've never seen anything like it...

So what is it? Coaching? Stamina? Can't blame our lack of a bench here considering Tulane is basically as shallow as we are.

Good point. Through three games, including this one, Tulane has only six players on their entire roster who have scored this year. And one of them, their top scorer, had to take the bench with four fouls on the very same play where we went up by 19. Also, some of the games listed above happened last year when we had a healthy Averkamp, Hicks, and Payne (two seniors and a junior with Big 10 experience).

I'm likely to say coaching. As I've mentioned before, it's becoming clear that Porter is terrible at in game adjustments.

At this point, I'm starting to get pissed off. We should be 3-0. Same shit, different day.

Same. I try to tell myself that it is very early in the season and the team is relatively young. But that is no excuse to lose the last two games the way we did. And with the MVC schedule ahead, this team may be hard pressed to win double digit games.
