I was going to rant. I wrote a very long and detail accounting but no good would come of it. I am just dismayed by all that has happened over the last week.

I am sad to see Porter leave, he has left his mark on Rambler basketball by bringing good kids into the program and winning a lot of games along the way. He is a good person that was able to shine a light on all the things that are great about Loyola University and fostered a sense of pride in our alumni base. He will always be part of our basketball history and we are all better for it.

Don't cry because it's over, smile because it's happened. Theodor Geisel

Amen. I'm a proud Loyola alumn, a proud resident of Chicago, and a proud fan of this team. Thanks Porter for contributing to that.

This was a hard year (and at a purely personal level 2018 was a very hard year for me as well) and I am grateful for the joy and sense of community that this team brought over these years. I hope whoever picks up the torch next can continue to win with students who make us proud.

Loyola certainly did all it could to keep him. Who knows what motivated PM to leave. He might one day regret leaving the passion, warmth and gratitude he received from the Loyola community. I hope Oklahoma may embrace him as easily or accept any missteps along the way like Loyola did for him.

I'll drink to that.

Matt Norlander reported that Loyola offered him $2.2M and other added benefits (cubs season tickets etc.). Wasn't the Oklahoma offer for $2.5M? Seems like he was ready to move on and it wasn't even about the money. That's assuming what Norlander said was accurate.

I've discovered a lot of my fellow Rambler fans on Twitter and on this board are a lot nicer than I am. I've been biting my tongue hard the past few hours.

You're also assuming the $2.5M figure was accurate. Thought I saw David Kaplan said it could be north of $3M at one point.

Read that Kruger made $3.3. Also definitely feels like Porter is the kind of guy who is looking for the chance to compete at the absolute highest level. Can't really blame him for that, even though the Mark Few model is more my style.

To be fair, this could still be the Mark Few model. He was an assistant at Gonzaga who stepped up after the first Elite 8 coach left for greener pastures. So....your move, Drew Valentine

I’ve been super disappointed all afternoon. But if Moser isn’t our Few, let’s go find our Few. The university and admin has shown commitment, we still have Watson. Let’s keep this ball rolling
