93-41 final.

Looking forward to hearing from people who were at the game.

Knight had 4 fouls in 11 minutes? What was the deal?

Anyone know why Clemons didn’t play?

Final score: LU 93, UWS 41. Norris led Loyola with 17 points on 5 threes. Williamson had 11, Hutson and Uguak with 10 each.

I was at the game and others who were there feel free to disagree but here were some of my main takeaways:
- First, UW Stout is bad…like pretty dang bad. Wouldn’t put too much stock into this game either way. That being said….
- We subbed very liberally (makes sense against a D3 school). Very even minutes distribution, and for the majority of the game we were rotating every scholarship player in (Ben S, Clemons, Anderson didn’t dress).
- Offensively we ran a lot of ball screens and movement was good overall. Norris is automatic from 3, Lucas was great, Quise didn’t have his best game.
- Ryan S was impressive to me: running the floor and finishing well.
- The center rotation will be interesting this year. Hutty started and is just such a big body, Knight had 4 fouls in 11 minutes but wouldn’t read too much into that. A lot of it was ticky-tack stuff. Welch was solid too especially against such an undersized team.
- Thomas and Johnson are going to be really good…not sure how much they’ll play this year but their athleticism just pops off the floor. Both had some highlight moments today.
- Competition caveats apply, but our defense has a shot to be nearly as good as last year. Uguak and Williamson are obviously forces, but the communication and rotations seemed pretty sharp (again, obvious competition deficit here).

Yeah I'm not real sure what we gained from that. We looked good but it was kinda boring.

Most impressive and important thing to me was the capacity student section. Really encouraged to see that.

at the earlier scrimmage it was mentioned that Clemmons has a knee issue that may require attention and rest from time to time...although it seemed like they thought they would get him through the season....Anderson is probably not going to see the floor.....I am curious also to see how the center situation is going to play out....it is my biggest concern and think they will need all 3 centers with Welch ending up the most dependable.
for those who could not follow. the Loyola phone app GORamblers gives live stats and score..can follow the game anywhere if you cant make it...also covers other sports...pretty easy to use.
