Jim Whitesell could have done this... I'd like to hope that these things are not all Moser's fault but someone's got to be held responsible. I was really happy to see Loyola upgrade their facilities and make a move for a better conference. I was hoping things were really starting to move in the right direction and we were going to put together a program to be proud of. These losses are just horrible though...

I've listened or watched all the games this year... And after seeing this, I am convinced it's going to be a very ugly conference season. The scary part is that this is the team we are fielding without any big time injuries. If one of the few decent guys we have goes down for any length of time once the conference starts.. It's not just going to be losses ... it's going to be 20-30 point losses...

When I started at Loyola in 2002 I really wanted to be a fan. It's over 10 years later and I'm embarrassed to tell colleagues I follow Loyola basketball. I'm a realist. I know we are not, nor will we ever be, a Georgetown. I never expected Loyola to INSTANTLY gain as much respect as schools like Marquette and Xavier... But in my mind those are two comparable institutions to ours who have managed to have respectable, and at times highly successful, seasons consistently. They've built, rebuilt and maintain programs. I just don't understand how after this long, we have not figured out how to change this losing culture. Portland State? PORTLAND STATE?

Should I hang in there for a few more years? Is this new conference the start of the big turnaround for us or is it going to be more of the same? It's starting to get real frustrating.

Porter said this

Quote:
“This is a heartbreaking, disappointing and gut-wrenching loss,” Loyola coach Porter Moser said. “It’s about knowing how to win. We’ve got to get through this growth period and bounce back.”

Of course. Not his fault at all. This was just an outlier. We're still young.

Good thing is they get back on the court in 8 hours and hopefully get the sour taste out.

Essentially played 7 guys and only 3 bigs. Need to use other bigs off the bench even if it's 10-12 minutes. Back to back games is tough on the body, not to mention bouncing back again tomorrow.
