Thought I would start a thread on places to meet up eg. bars and restaurants. Decided to drive. Staying at the Wyndham Downtown. Will arrive early Thursday afternoon. Booked Thursday-Sunday but could cancel Sat. and/or Sun. by Noon if we were to lose Friday or have an early game Sunday. Looking for any fellow fans for a possible dinner, pub for Thursday night to watch the games. Would like to make this a fun trip. |

What's the deal with the school only getting 200 tickets? |

I looked it up, and 200 is the same amount they got last year. 2018 each school obviously got more. NCAA must feel like they can either get more money from the public than team allotments or they are giving away a lot more to sponsors to make up for last year. The arena sits 19,000 people. If each school gets the same, then for each section only 800 tickets get used, 4.21%. It's ridiculous to shut schools out like that. It's more fun when you get as many fans of the participating schools together as you can versus being spread out throughout an entire arena. |

Yeah I was thinking it seemed like the number from last year. I don't get it. Tickets are ridiculous on the secondary market right now, too. |

Great job by alumni relations. Full taco bar plus top shelf liquor (Manhattan and old fashioned for me). Best alumni event in sometime. I did like the breakfast buffets in the early 2009s in alumni gym!! Must eat/drink place in Pittsburgh: Mike’s beer bar. Next to pnc park 3rd base. Cook your own steak on a rock! 500 beers. Great night! Let’s have a few more. |

I was looking for places in Pittsburgh that looked like an upscale/bistro type place, and found something that looks really good: https://www.casbah.kitchen/ It's about 3-4 miles WNW of the downtown/PPG in a neighborhood called Shadyside. Menu looks fantastic, and the prices are pretty reasonable for casual fine dining. |
