The documentary on the 1963 season will be on CBS at 12, I think , before the semi-final games. I was very impressed with the documentary. Lucas Williamson was the main narrator. I am guessing it will not be quite what you expect, as I certainly got some surprises.. It tries to tell the story of that championship season from the perspective of what it was really like for the players on the team. I have to admit to hear Red Rush's voice was priceless...and Ronnie Miller who is kinda the unknown on the team moves into a substantive role....As usual left feeling extremely proud to be an LU alumn. Lucas Williamson was on the SCORE 670 talking about his experience..Had sooo many good things to say about his experience at LU , on and off the court. |

Had pleasure of being at the University Club in Chicago tonight where Coach Drew and Lucas Williamson were present to intro the film and answer questions afterwords. In case you all didn’t already know this, both Coach Valentine and Mr. Williamson are remarkable individuals. That they took the time to be here tonight and introduce our program, past and present was much appreciated. I left the function proud of our program and comfortable that we are in good hands going forward. It was interesting to see the audience exposed to LUC in real time, the 63 team, Jerry Harkness, and all. I know we gained some exposure and respect from some “newbies”… That’s all I’ve got… Just wanted to pass this on. |
