Bellarmine becomes 16th school in A-10 .....we are no longer the newest school in A-10......A-10 goes west and south

Here is Nate's source:

In Nate's defense, the blog is undeniably believable, particularly the part about Loyola thinking Bellarmine was a Jesuit institution when it voted for admission, then being prevented from changing its vote when it found out it wasn't, under the conference's "No Takesie Backsie" rule.

They definitely don't need to get to 16. They would only expand if there's a business benefit to the league, which I don't see any school providing anytime soon. Maybe Belmont for the Nashville market, but they have a tiny fan base. Certainly not Bellarmine, wherever that is :)

Bellarmine is a jesuit saint but not a jesuit university. Loyola must have been running out of names when it opened up Bellarmine hall then.

For a while Bellarmine was d2 in all things except men's lacrosse. I've always thought if there was money in the budget Loyola was a good candidate for first lacrosse program in Illinois. Lot's of local talent with nowhere to go in state and it would be fun to have somewhere to watch live games in the city. If we're going to be sending teams to the east coast all the time anyways we might as well.

The school's club lacrosse team is the only program to have held on to the hobos as a mascot.

Okay,,,just saying,
1. The won their COnference this year...the Atlantic Sun and would have gone to the dance but only 2nd year in DI so ineligilbe.
2. Had a way better non-conference schedule than us. Purdue, West Virginia,Gonzaga, St. Marys, UCLA, Cental Michigan, Miami of Ohio, South Dakota St. Bradley
3. Although not a Jesuit University, named after a Jesuit priest and Saint.
4. They gave their bball managers a scholarship

5. Their coach bought everyone a drink after they won the Conference Tnmnt.

6. And they play at Freedom Hall.....
7. and had a better net ranking 195 than several A-10 teams.....

So....just maybe...
