The fouls and turnovers are unacceptable….just generally sloppy basketball. Know it’s early in the season but this is embarrassingly bad

On the plus side, we're guaranteed to play a P5 team, and potential a current Top 25 team on Sunday...

This season is going to be painful, isn't it?

This is UNACCEPTABLE. This is Pre-Moser Bad Basketball.

We aren't very good this year. But from what I've seen of the A10, we should still be middle of the pack.

In the last 80 minutes of basketball, we’ve turned the ball over 50 times. I can’t put my head around that….

the pace at which we attempt to play is like we are free diving off a cliff and trying to catch flying birds on the way down....and we do it against birds who are good flyers. They seem out of control both offensively and defensively..Maybe it comes together and we will be known as the Flying Wendellas.
And they have to settle on a line up and rotation now that Marquis is back....and someone has got to hit some 3s...

Yeah the increased pace seems like a failed experiment at this point. Not sure if that's what is causing Braden to press or lose his legs on his shot or whatever is happening -- you don't go from a>40% 3 shooter to 20% for no reason, although it's early enough to still just be a few cold games.

But then there's still the turnovers. At the first timeout we had six turnovers at one attempted shot. Maybe that is something that will come together, and all those extra passes will start turning into easy looks instead of the turnovers we're seeing now.

And yeah, time to tighten up the rotations. The underclassmen don't have the polish to get the minutes they are getting. They all have a lot of potential, but man they keep getting blown by, missing rotations, etc. They're just not ready.

Also, isn't Wilson supposed to be a 3 and D guy? AKA the two things we are sorely lacking? Any idea why he's glued to the bench? Not saying he'd be better than the SFs we are playing now, but he does have experienced, size, and good shooting numbers.

Can’t say anything more on the turnovers/fouling. Team looks rushed, has some good moments but started and ended pretty brutally.

Also - doubling the ball was a great strategy the first half, Tulsa was totally unprepared and it worked really well. The second half they figured it out though, turned into a lot of open 3s or fouls. Drew needs to recognize that and switch the scheme, Tulsa’s coach got his team righted during halftime.

Crossing my fingers we also start seeing Saint the great scorer and not just Saint the theoretically great scorer.

Seems to me like the wide open offensive pace is a bid to get the young kids to buy in, because they're allowed to show off their athleticism. It's one thing to allow that if they make 60% of their shots and don't turn the ball over, but if they're making 42% of their shots and turning it over worse than any Loyola team in a generation, it can't go on.

Rolling the ball out to center court and letting the players do whatever they want is a terrible strategy, even if it's the McDonald's All-American team. If it's a bunch of 3-star recruits in a league where the average team has 3.75 star recruits, it's even worse.

Take care of the ball.
Run plays.
Play the great defense Loyola teams played to get us into this conference.
Conquer the fundamentals first, so the flourishes have meaning.
