They have announced the golf outing date...August 17th....in Wheaton at Cantigny....this is always a fun day...lots of opportunities to meet and talk with coaches from almost all the sports....The last few years Sr. Jean has been there as well. There are also lots of our athletes on the course and usually x athletes as well...Chance to mingle and talk with the guys...as well usually mens and womens bball coaches update everyone on what is going on. there is a golf option and a non golf option...you can get info from the athletic site. but here is a little itenerary. I highlited the non-golfer option . Also the silent auction is usually really good with tons of Chicago pro team stuff...although I scored an autographed Stan Musial baseball one year... 8:30 am - Registration and breakfast begins 10:00 am - Loyola Athletics updates featuring athletic director Steve Watson 10:30 am - Shotgun start 3:30 pm - Party on the Green cocktail hour Registration Options: Foursome - $1200 Individual - $300 Non-Golfer - $45 (attend the breakfast banquet and/or Party on the Green cocktail hour) |

Just a reminder that besides playing golf this is mostly a basketball gathering. Most of the coaches are there and recently the new players have been there and been introduced. Coach Valentine is very accessable. The women's program is well represented as well. For those of you dont golf you can kill time by going to the bar and outside patio...usually some of the coaches and other athletic personel dont play golf and just hang out on the patio....but also Cantigny has a great WWI museum and incredible gardens...the silent auction is usually top notch as well with lots of Bears, Cubs, Sox, Blackhawks stuff as well as LU swag...pretty competitive sharpen your elbows.... if interested just get a hold of Brian Day at the ticket office. Also usually celebrate Sr.Jean's birthday as she is in attendance. IT is 45 bucks if you are not a golfer.
