Loyola made the investment in its Basketball program by the move from the MCC/Horizon to the MVC and now A10. Detroit instead hired a disaster in Mike Davis, and would not make a change until the 1-32 season. Now Izzo makes a call and sends one of his Assistants to Titan Territory. Similar to his placing an Assistant at Eastern and Western Michigan.

The powers to be at UDM are making great strides in enrollment, received a national ranking by the Wall Street Journal to #43 in the nation and is increasing its academic programs (optometry coming soon).
Us alumns have been begging and are ready to write checks necessary to get the heck out of the Horizon and compete again with similar Jesuit / Catholic programs. We point to you Loyola as the path out of the Horizon and to better days.

Good luck on the season, and we are counting on LU to do well. Hopefully will be competitive again!

I and, most Ramblers alums I know, are hoping for a resurgence of Titan basketball.

Hope to see the Ramblers / Titans Jesuit rivalry back to a yearly affair. Schools that share a lot in common--big Midwestern cities, Jesuit ideals, proud basketball history.

Good game last night. Am really liking what I am seeing from us on the offensive end. DeLoach/Rubin on the floor at the same time seems like it can really work, especially with the passing we saw from each of them last night. Defense needs some work. As does 3-point shooting. One more "tune-up" game until one of our biggest non-con challenges against Princeton a week from today.

Deloach definitely looks like a great addition so far.

At the game last night.

Upside
Looking better at the free throw line.
Like the little bit I saw from our 2 lauded freshman.
Deloach has some slick movement in the paint

Downside
Ball control. ( I know, I know, it's early in the season and we're still shaking things out)
I already miss Norris and his 3 pt shots. Early indications that our threes will not be coming from the PG position.
Getting bunched up by defenders when driving the lane
Smallest crowd I have seen in a while

I feel like Sheldon will have a real good season with the 3 balls

Titans a tune up game against a former rival says it all for the state of Titan basketball.
