Not sure if anyone else is subscribed to Trilly Donovan's discord. He posted today that his intel is telling him that Miles Rubin will be entering the portal, likely right after the season ends. Trilly is extremely well connected and rarely gets predictions wrong. My guess is a big school has always offered Miles a substantial amount and he accepted. |

It really is the wild , wild west out there right now. Heard the Colorado State football coach talk about this. Basically he said anyone who can call themselves an agent contacts schools to see what they would offer for a certain player....put together three or four offers than contacts the kid to offer....He said the agents are taking 10 to 15 percent....The NFL restricts this to 3 percent. If this is true how do you think this effects the team? He really looked amped Saturday and played really well. This would really suck if true. We were looking at our 2 4 stars freshman from this year....the two 4 stars from the incoming class along with Rubin, Dawson and Quinn for the next two years. I was soooo looking forward to a team of home developed 4 year players. |

Really hope this isn’t true, Trilly is known for being super plugged in though. Lot of season left for Rubin to be convinced otherwise. But gosh between this and the Dawson news, what a gut punch to the fan base for an 8-0 team |

If true, pretty damn painful for sure. We've established a new identity here after the Sweet 16 guys have moved on. Rubin being a very large part of it. What more BLEEP can the portal and NIL throw at us as a strong mid major? Hate to guess. |

Not too surprising… I think we’ve got a decent shot at retaining him but will need to pony up the NIL cash to have a shot. Do we have any 25 year old alums dating billionaires? |

Lots of season left...not worth worrying about it with the 8-0 team we have right now. I trust Drew and the culture to make everything work out in the end. |

I think something is fishy here. If Miles is truly destined for the transfer portal, we will probably know in the next few days. End of fall semester finals are this week, and we're also 8 games into the season. From a transfer perspective, this is ideal for two reasons, and the lesser reason is it's a clean break academically. We're coming up to the 9 game threshold to qualify for a redshirt year that would give Miles an extra year of eligibility were he to withdraw this season for say "mental health reasons." Moreover, redshirting the rest of this season would also avoid a catastrophic injury like an ACL that would probably massively set his NIL earnings back. Not to mention a mid-season transfer rather than an end of season transfer would mean that whatever handshake agreement he currently has wouldn't be undone by a coaching change in March. I don't subscribe to his discord, so please correct me if I'm wrong. If his actual phrasing there was Miles Quote: "will be entering the portal, likely right after the season ends," then IMHO it sounds like pure speculation from the guy based off of Miles' recruiting pedigree, premier position in CBB as a big, our standing as a mid-major, etc. as a transfer candidate. Basically no more truth to the rumor besides a guy finding Miles on a CBB Rising Underclassmen to Watch list or others on this board speculating that he could leave for a bigger school. If he said Miles to the portal without any mention of timeframe or that it would be happening in the next coming days, then I'd believe it more.

It doesn’t sound like there is any risk of him not finishing the season, I wouldn’t worry about that. |

This was always possible and not that big of an issue IMO. In the current climate getting 2 seasons out of a player is nothing to sneeze at. |

He has a very high hit rate on predicting high school and transfer commitments. On his discord, he has a section solely for intel he receives. He described the intel for "Portal" entries as he received information from a program that a player has made a commitment to enter the portal. He has said that this usually means after the season as if it's an imminent entry, he usually is told that by his sources. Kind of a lot of unknowns. But I think the most likely scenario here is that Miles (or his agent) has received some type of "offer" from a big program and either he (or his agent) has made some type of commitment to that program enter the portal to pursue that offer (and potentially others). It's all kind of gross, shady and, unfortunately, the norm in college athletics in 2024. Fly-by-night agents getting involved in an already shady process has made things substantially worse. |
